Sustainable management at heristo: Stockmeyer and BUSS are ZNU-certified

Two companies in the heristo Group, Westfälische Fleischwarenfabrik Stockmeyer (Sassenberg-Füchtorf) and Buss Fertiggerichte (Ottersberg), have recently taken a pioneering step towards sustainable management.

These were certified by TÜV Rheinland in accordance with the standard of the Center for Sustainable Corporate Management (ZNU) as part of audits lasting several days. The audits at the two companies were just the beginning in terms of sustainability at heristo: the long-term goal is to have the entire group certified. The next audits are scheduled for Appel Feinkost (Cuxhaven) and saturn petcare (Bremen).

Stockmeyer and Buss were assessed along three pillars as part of their audits: economic, social and ecological sustainability. In addition to the careful use of resources, aspects such as quality and training management or occupational safety are also part of the audit. Certification in accordance with the ZNU standard not only examines the successes that the companies have already achieved in these areas. It also looked at the specific targets they have set themselves for the future, for example in terms of emissions and energy, and how they intend to achieve them.

Successful certification is by no means the end of the sustainability process: with the ZNU standard, the targets set and their achievement are reviewed every year.
